Ryan was born in Ashern, Manitoba. He grew up in the old Lake St. Martin and that is where he created his closest bonds with siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles. He grew up playing outdoors, video games and getting into mischief with his siblings and cousins creating funny and cherished memories.
In Lake St. Martin he learned to fish and do many outdoor activities. He loved camping telling scary stories. Ryan was extremely talented creatively. He was an accomplished artist, musician, chef and comedian. He had a passion for making people laugh and finding humour in everything. He constantly shared movie quotes and funny stories.
Ryan learned to play the acoustic guitar which belonged to his sister, so she gifted him her guitar because he mastered it. After that it was electric, bass as well as drums and piano. He shared his gift of music with the world.
All who knew him knew his passion for art. He was a talented artist and spent many hours creating beautiful work. Contracting to many leaders throughout the province, personal portraits for family and friends. He was also very humble and proud of his art piece that was displayed at the Winnipeg Art Museum for some time.
He left home during his teen years to attend high school in the cities. He graduated from East Kildonan Collegiate with his fellow cousin and best friend Alex Traverse.
On February 14, 2014, Ryan married his best friend, Jamie. They had two beautiful children, a girl (Lilliana) and boy (Angel) whom they raised together. Ryan loved his children immensely and had so many plans for them. It was recently that he was teaching his daughter to drive and wanted to gift her her very first vehicle. He wanted the best for his children and did his best to provide for them and show them love every day of his life.
It was through marriage that Ryan gained another family and always had the support and love he needed from his in-laws.
Throughout his life, Ryan would devout himself to attend church services and listen to gospel music. He also performed in church services if musicians were needed. He had a love for gospel music and would listen to Jim Felix song “Take me by the hand” and “Tonight”; as well as Ernie Kematch song “It Takes Jesus.”
