It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Kenneth Lance Walker, at the young age of 39, a cherished spouse, father, son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend. Kenneth was reported missing on September 3, 2026. His body was located on September 13, 2026.

Kenneth was born on June 16, 1987, in The Pas, Manitoba, to Jimmy and Susan Walker. Together, his parents raised him to learn our traditional ways of providing through hunting and commercial fishing. They also taught him the value of family unity in love and hardships. Kenneth continued on with that life becoming a commercial fisherman himself and eventually owning his own fishing license. He in turn passed those traditions onto his boys and began teaching them how to hunt and fish. Kenneth also worked as a labourer with CLCP throughout his adult years.

Kenneth resided in Easterville all his life and briefly left only to attend high school in Cranberry Portage, Manitoba. He soon returned after the completion of Chemawawin school’s build, offering high school diplomas, where he graduated in 2009. While in high school, Kenneth met Tamarrah, fell in love and spent the rest of his life loving her.

Kenneth was truly an unforgettable person, growing up he was a wild and spirited child always finding his way into some kind of trouble and adventure leaving behind stories that would be remembered and laughed about for years to come. His sense of humour was one of the things people loved about him. He could make people laugh with his quick playful personality, and perfectly timed comments.

Behind that wild and funny side was a man who was selfless, with a deeply caring heart, and strong family values. Family meant everything to him. He believed in being connected, supporting one another through love, hardships and appreciating the importance of having each other. He had a way of making a people feel loved, accepted, and never alone.

His laughter, adventurous spirit, kindness, and unwavering love, for his family and friends will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind, not only memories but countless stories, and that will bring tears some that will bring laughter and many that will be told again and again. He was one of a kind, and there will never be another quite like him. Kenneth was a such a light in this world that could sometimes be so dark. He will be deeply missed.

I’m Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following paths God made for me
I took his hand I heard him call
Then turned, and bid farewell to all
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to sing, to play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found my peace... at close of play
And if my parting left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened... deep with sorrow
I wish you sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full I've savoured much
Good friends, good times
A loved one's touch
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with grief
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wants me now... He set me free.
