With love surrounding her, Kathy peacefully entered into the presence of her precious Saviour on July 28, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at 76 years of age.
She leaves to mourn her husband Gerald, of nearly 58 years; her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jonathan & Neoma Green (Jessica & Billy Schalla {Nora & baby}, Joelle & Glenn McCullough, Caleb & Carrie); Mark & Wendy Green (Emily & Hien Nguyen, Madelaine & fiancé Brayden Mondor, Timothy & Jazlyn {Weston, Dalton & baby}, Samuel & Joah); Stephen & Ann Katherine Green (Noah, Isaiah), Naomi & Richard Nast (Ethan, Samara), Maria & Mike Janzen (Sadie, Silas, Eliza); her siblings: Helen Guenther, Bernie Fehr, Aggie Fehr, Mary & Sam Small and John & Sandra Fehr; in-laws: Norman Green, Debbie Crave, Russell Green and Shelley & Gary Jundt; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Margaret (nee Dyck) & Isaac Fehr; her parents in-law Edward & Lavina (nee Quigley) Green; brothers in-law: Jake Guenther & Glen Crave; nephew Philip Jundt; sister Martha Martens; sister in-law Darlene Fehr; and many other beloved friends and relatives.
Kathy was born in Carrot River, Saskatchewan and in 1952 her family settled in Ideal, Manitoba. She attended the one room school at Ideal and Grade 9 in St. Laurent and later on she achieved her GED diploma. She loved learning! She then went to work at various jobs to help support the family. Kathy and Gerald met as adults, despite growing up one mile from each other. They married in 1968, lived in Winnipeg and started their family in 1969 with Jonathan. As Mark, Stephen and Naomi arrived they lived in Woodlands and Stonewall. In 1976 they purchased an acreage near Winnipeg Beach, there they raised their family, including the surprise addition of Maria in 1983. In 1992, the first grandchild was born, with 14 in all arriving by 2015. Great-grandchildren began arriving in 2021. She was thrilled with the ever growing stages of her family, including her great anticipation of two weddings this summer and in her last days, the announcement of two more great-grand babies.
In 1970, Kathy accepted Jesus as her personal Saviour. She was baptized upon her faith and continued to lean on Him until her final days when she was heard saying “Yesus” in low German. Over the years, there have been several meaningful church families to Gerald and Kathy, including Salem MB Church in Winnipeg, St. Laurent Church, Teulon Gospel Chapel, Bayview Evangelical Free Church in Gimli and for the last 22 years, Teulon New Life Church.
Kathy worked hard at many jobs while raising children, including companion and housekeeper to two retired school teachers, food service and house cleaning as well as her own gardening, canning, sewing and crocheting. She took classes on hair cutting and began doing hair from home, later adding a Salon to the house and at 47 years old, attended Pollock’s School of Beauty to achieve her diploma. She continued to cut hair at “Kathy’s Kuts” until January 2026. Her salon chair has heard many conversations and much laughter and tears over the years. Many of her clients were also friends and she shared many cups of coffee and often soup and buns. Primarily, her heart was to share the love of God with all those she met. She often did this through song, as she was a gifted a cappella singer and was asked to sing at many weddings, funerals, showers, church and other events over the years.
In the last 10 years, her health was slowly declining due to a lifelong-late-diagnosed blood disorder that affected her organs, and in the last year, she knew her time was coming to a close. One night in January she heard her Mom calling her and her heart was prepared. She entered hospital early July and spent 3 weeks being cared for. We thought we had a little more time, but things shifted and she quietly slipped away to her Eternal home.
Celebration of Life: Monday, August 10, 2026, viewing at 10:30 a.m., service at 11:00 a.m. at the Teulon Rockwood Centennial Centre, 14 Main Street, Teulon, Manitoba. Luncheon will be held immediately after the service.

Interment: St. Williams Cemetery around 2:15 p.m. (located at the corner of PR225, Hwy 8 & Pawluk Road).

Appreciation: The Green family would like to thank the many special friends who came to see mom in her last weeks and months. Those visits meant SO much to her and to all of us. There are too many to name, but we believe you each know who you are and how special that time was. We also extend a HUGE thank-you to the Gimli Hospital Staff, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your patience and kindness. Dr. Breckman, for your years of care and compassion with mom. Thank you to the Selkirk and Gimli homecare staff, especially Shauna & Lucy. Thank you to Anderson Family Funeral Home for caring for Mom, our friend and Pastor Bernie Unrau for officiating, and the Winnipeg Beach Ladies for the refreshments after the service.
