Peacefully, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family, Glenn Eric Murdock of Fisher River Cree Nation passed away on May 20th, 2026 at the age of 68 after his long hard-fought battle with cancer.
Glenn will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 34 years, Katherine Murdock; his daughters & son in laws, Kassi & Presley Kirkness and Kaitlyn & Chad Bear: his grandchildren who were his pride and joy Titan, Tayanna, Tylie, Talahni & Taeven; his brothers Stephen (Liz), Arnold (Emily), Doug (Roberta) and his one & only baby sister Doreen (Dave), mother in law Virginia Grabowski; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews and family and friends.
Dad was predeceased by his parents Frederick & Ruby Murdock, brother Frederick (Buck) Murdock Jr, paternal grandparents James Albert & Nellie Murdock, maternal grandparents Peter & Marion Sinclair and father in law Mike Grabowski.
Dad was born July 1st, 1957 at the Fisher River Hospital in Peguis, Manitoba. Dad attended grade school in Fisher River then moved to Winnipeg to continue his education at Tech Voc. He worked as a carpenter and taper all his life. Dad enjoyed working on his vehicles, and was also everyone else’s mechanic when their vehicle needed work done. When he wasn’t working on vehicles he was woodworking making boxes, shelves and anything he could think of.
His family would like to sincerely thank his nieces Dawn & Christy Bird, PEM staff; Especially Erica Murdock & Dr Briscoe, Fisher River Health Centre Staff; Cheryl Sinclair, Liz Stevenson, Britt Stevenson, Kirsten Bouchey and home care maintenance, Nicole Patterson, Lorne (Tweety) Cochrane, Sister Doreen & Dave Bird, William Bird, Dennis (Smiley) Murdock, in laws Liz, Colleen, Carol, Donna, Dubby & Ashton, Fisher River Chief & Council, Gimli Cancer Care, Anderson Family Funeral Home, as well as those who have donated food, provided monetary support and offered comforting words during this difficult time. Your generosity and kindness have brought so much comfort to our family and we are forever grateful.
We will bring dad home on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 for one last night. (Meeting at the old Ashern road at 2:15) Friends are invited to come by our home after 6:oo p.m.
