(nee: Goodman)

Mom was born and raised on the family farm, which at the time was in unorganized Fairford - now the RM of Grahamdale.  She attended school in Fairford.  When she was old enough, she left home and worked in a fish cannery at Molson Lake and then on to Winnipeg working as a waitress.

Mom and Dad met at a dance in Fairford, where Dad was playing in the band.  They were married in 1952 in Ashern.  In 1956, they moved to Winnipeg and that is where Mom resided until her passing.  Mom was a full time home maker, was an accomplished seamstress, volunteered at the church and in later years, liked to go to the casino.  Mom loved fishing,  her and dad spent many days at the Narrows and her most favorite spot, by the dam at Fairford.

Mom always maintained her humor, wit and sharp thinking mind  She was extremely proud of her independent living till the end - Mom was a spitfire.

Mom is survived by her daughters, Pat (Leonard) Lands of Eagle River, Ontario, Eleanor (David) Monk of Camper and Susan (Gerry) Fuchs of St. Malo; her grandchildren, Kevin (Ruby) and Alivia (Desi); her great-grandsons,  Andrew and Ty; her great-great-granddaughter, Everleigh and by her great-great-grandson, Jaxson.

Mom was predeceased by her parents, Arman and Margaret Goodman; her brothers, Tom, Arman, Ole, Donald and by her sister, Ranka.

Mom, on occasion would say “Let it be,” and so we shall.

Funeral Service: Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. at the St. Helen’s Anglican Church, Fairford, Manitoba, with Rev. Cathie Clow officiating.

All are welcome to meet after the service at one of Mom’s favorite spots - Bill and Ruby’s.

Miss Me, But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room,
Why cry for a soul set free.

Miss me a little, but not too long,
And not with your head bowed low,
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me, but let me go.

For this journey we must all take,
And each must go alone,
It's part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.

So when you are lonely and sick at heart,
Go to the friends we know,
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds,
Miss me, but let me go.
