It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and cousin on the night of September 28th, 2026. Cashes "Gig (Nigigoonth)" Clay Stagg, was 34 yrs young, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, but grew up in his hometown Pinaymootang First Nation.
Cashes, "Gig", was the 3rd of 5 children, born on November 30, 1991 at the Women's Hospital in Winnipeg.
Our brother had a passion for sports, he loved hockey, basketball, baseball, and even boxing, but most of all hockey. His all-time favorite team was Toronto Maple Leafs, he wore his jersey proudly when they were in the playoffs. He was a big music lover, always listening to music and singing/rapping to songs, even loudly at times. He enjoyed going to malls to shop for clothes and shoes, we called him a "Mallrat".
He loved all his family members, he loved to visit everyone, he disliked being bored. Family was important to him, as you would always find him the first one at family gatherings. He went everywhere with our Kookoo when she was alive. He was fond of babies/children, and was especially proud of his nephew and niece, Noah and Nova Stagg. He was always unapologetically his authentic self, never judged anyone. He will be greatly missed by us all he was close with. The family would like to acknowledge and extend our deepest gratitude to Edwin and Silvia Panameno, for taking him into their care for 9.5 years.
Gig is predeceased by his grandparents, David and Elsie Bruce, whom have raised him along side 2 of his siblings as babies; his grandfather, William "Willy" Letandre; his grandmother/great aunt, Violet Shorting and his uncle Kelly Stagg.

The family would also like to give our special thanks to Ashern Paramedics and Gypsumville RCMP for their rescue efforts, Chief and Council and Anderson Family Funeral Home. Special thanks to all that have visited and showed their support, gave donations, helped with the food and in the kitchen. Our sincerest apologies if we have missed anyone.
