Antoinette Christine Pruden

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Antoinette Christine Pruden, who passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 54 years old.

Antoinette was born on January 16, 1971, in Ashern, Manitoba. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend whose kindness, strength, and love touched everyone who knew her.

She is lovingly remembered by her children Jaycene, Emily, Jason, and Darien, and those she took as her own Terrence (Jessica), Kristen (Dakota) and KJ. Her grandchildren Ezekiel and Bennet, as well as the grandbabies she took in as her own Tanleigh, Torrance, Kayleigh, Kelvin Jr., David, Terrence Jr., Jeremiah, Tessa, Paris, Tiah, Olivia and her Godson Asher (who called her G-Mama). She is also remembered by her siblings Lillian (Louis) Peltier, Mervin Pruden-West, Theressa (Karl) West-Barker, Edward (Sherry) Woodhouse, Angela (Raymond) Ross, Audrey Ross, Sajata Woodhouse, Leonard (Lucille) Ross, Desmond (Arnold) Ross, and Tyler (Holly) Woodhouse and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many extended family and friends.

She was predeceased by her angel babies and her father Lawrence Ross, as well as Grandparents David and Caroline Ross. Her aunts and uncles who all took each other as siblings Peter Ross, Albert Ross, Earl Ross, Violet Ross, Mary-Jane Beardy, Irene and Kelvin Mousseau, and her nieces Laura Catcheway, Leonna Beardy, Katherine Beardy and Dana Sumner-Hall, her nephew Allan Beardy and cousin Jason Sumner.

Antoinette will be remembered for her warmth, humor, generosity, resilience, kindness, and for the way she always puts family first and welcomes everyone with open arms. For those who knew her, she was known as Mama Bear. The reason she was known as Mama Bear, her children would walk and follow behind her like a bear with her cubs. 

One of her most favorite hobbies was to sit and enjoy the outdoors with a cup of tea and sharing laughter with all who came to visit her or who she went to visit. You would always find her sitting outside with her sister Irene and Deedee, taking walks or watching her grandchildren play outside. She shared a very special bond with all of her grandchildren, always taking care of them and playing with them. 

In her free time, she will be found sitting at her spot doing her puzzles, crosswords or reading crime/thriller books and watching her Greys Anatomy and 9-11 (her 2 favorite shows). She had a love for adventure, sightseeing, always planning camping trips, bonfires, and family getaways, but she also loved being home with her family. She never wanted to exclude family from her adventures, always wanted them to be included. She always wanted to live in the moment. Her love and presence will be deeply missed but forever carried in our hearts.

Funeral Service: Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at the Obushkadayang School

Interment: Lake St. Martin Cemetery

APPRECIATION
The family would like to thank everyone that stopped in to see our Mama and to those who prayed for her. Especially to her best friend Kathleen Disbrowe for always showing up, taking her out and being there for the family. We would also like to extend our deepest thank you to councilors Alex Traverse, Jules Beardy and Brad Beardy, to Susan Ryle-Munroe, to her niece Precious Thompson, to her little sister Cindy Beardy (both who helped take care of her while her daughters and sons were at work and school) and to her son Terrence and his wife Jessica for always showing up and providing for Mamas needs. We would also like to send a big thank you to Lakeshore General Hospital for taking care of our Mama in her final moments, especially to a specific nurse who she called "Bee”
