Funeral Details
“...Well done, thou good and faithful servant” - Matthew 25:21
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, papa, uncle and great uncle, Albert (Ab) Thomas, at the age of 84 years.
Albert leaves to mourn his passing his sons Clyde, Monty (Laurie) and Jeff (Cheryl) Thomas, his daughter Bonnie Sinclair (Sheldon), his grandchildren and his special niece, Sharon Mann.
Albert was predeceased by his parents Harry and Lena Thomas, his siblings Gladys Favel, Gordie Thomas, Harold Thomas, Edith McCorrister, Oswald Thomas, Leonard Thomas, Elmer Thomas, Agnes Mallett and Betty Rose.
Dad was born and raised in Peguis, he attended the local schools and Birtle Residential school. Dad was the first band constable for Peguis in the 1970's. He worked as a carpenter and built some homes in Peguis.
Growing up with many siblings and praying parents, he learned about God at an early age, which would lead him to serving God most of his life. Dad became musically talented and skilled in playing many instruments such as the guitar, steel guitar, accordion, piano and organ.
His love for God led him to travelling all over attending services and tent meetings. He would share stories of his travels with family and friends, which often would end in laughter but also a good praise report. Dad was often seen praying for people everywhere and even playing his guitar on the streets.
For the past 3 years, Dad resided at the Peguis Senior Home, where he made special friendships with the staff. He loved to watch hockey with his friend Carl McCorrister and would visit with the other residents.
We want to thank the Peguis Senior Centre staff for the love and care they gave our dad during his stay at the home. Also, a special thank you to his nephew Garry Spence as he would check on dad, visit and bring him some snacks.
